The following is a brief overview, not to be interpreted as the end all, be all of Sales Tax information for Nevada sales.

Short answer: Yes, coins and bullion that are “not used as a medium of exchange are indeed taxable.” Coins with a denomination are taxable. Professionally certified (3rd party graded/authenticated) bullion is also considered a collectible and is taxable.

HOWEVER, somewhat to the contrary, although not an exact opposite consideration, bullion without a denomination and that which is “used as medium of exchange and traded at a premium less than 50%” is Tax Exempt.

Collectibles as a broad category are taxable.
